As a Dj, remixer, producer and co-owner of one of the world’s most successful dance music production companies, Def Mix Productions, David Morales has made a mark all his own.Morales hails from the streets of Brooklyn which has lent to his unique style behind the DJ booth as well as in the studio, a style which has been sought after since 1987 to bring both guts and accessibility to music.
In 1989 Morales started working at a new club called the Red Zone which along with his first trip to Britian influenced his studio mixes to have a fusion of the UK sound with his own street sound.Those mixes were called “The Red Zone Mixes” and led Morales to become a legend in the underground. In 1991, Morales started work on his own record David Morales and The Bad Yard Club “The Program” which was released in 1993.
Since then David has appeared on MTV’s “The Grind” and has continued to spin records at major clubs arround the world. His production skills have kept him in great demand with top recording artists such as; Seal, Tina Turner, Jamiroquai, both Janet & Michael Jackson as well as Luther Vandross and Toni Braxton to name just a few of a list that stuffs 8 A4 pages !Earlier this year he received another well deserved feather in his cap when he received a Grammy nomination for his work on Mariah Carey’s mega album “Day-Dream”. Hong Kong can expect a real heart thumping stomper of a night when this master of the remix slams the platters at Space !
